Description

The LED Pop-Up Bow Light combines red (port) and green (starboard) navigation lights into a single, compact housing that mounts at the bow. When you're not running at night, push the button and it folds down to 2.15" above the deck. When you need it, pop it up to 2.65" for USCG-compliant illumination.

Pop-up bow light installation diagram showing 3.5 inch cutout and dimensions

This is the cleanest way to mount bi-color navigation lights on performance boats, center consoles, and any vessel where deck clutter matters.

How It Works:

The pop-up mechanism uses a spring-loaded design. Push the button, and the light rises into position. Push again, and it folds down. No tools required, no fumbling with removable lights.

When deployed, the light displays:

  • Red (Port) – Visible from dead ahead to 112.5° aft on the left side
  • Green (Starboard) – Visible from dead ahead to 112.5° aft on the right side

This meets USCG requirements for sidelights on recreational vessels.

Built for the Marine Environment:

The housing is machined from 316 marine-grade stainless steel, the same corrosion-resistant alloy used in high-end marine hardware. This light won't pit, rust, or degrade in saltwater conditions.

LED technology means:

  • Minimal power draw (won't drain your batteries)
  • Cool to the touch (no heat buildup)
  • Long lifespan (outlasts incandescent by thousands of hours)
  • Bright, crisp light output

Installation:

Cut a 3-1/2" diameter hole in your bow deck using a hole saw. The stainless steel bezel (4.43" x 4.0") sits over the cutout. Fasten with three #10 screws (not included). Wire the light to your 12V navigation circuit.

Below deck, you'll need at least 1.80" of clearance for the light housing. If you're adding the optional waterproof cup, you'll need 4.00" total depth.

The optional waterproof cup (3-1/4" deep, sold separately) catches any water that enters the cutout from waves or rain and channels it away from your hull interior. Recommended for boats that take spray over the bow.

Fits These Boats:

  • Performance boats
  • Center consoles
  • Offshore fishing boats
  • Go-fast boats
  • Cigarette-style boats
  • Bay boats
  • Flats boats
  • Any vessel where a clean bow deck matters

Why Performance Boat Owners Choose Pop-Up Lights:

Traditional bow lights stick up from the deck all the time. They snag lines, get kicked, and look out of place on a sleek hull. The pop-up design solves all of that. Your deck stays clean when the light isn't needed, and you get full USCG compliance when it is.

DRSA stocks Livorsi pop-up bow lights in our North Palm Beach, Florida warehouse. We've been South Florida's trusted source for marine lighting and performance boat accessories for over 35 years.

Does this replace separate port and starboard lights? Yes. This bi-color light combines both the red port light and green starboard light into a single unit mounted at the centerline of the bow. USCG regulations allow combined sidelights on vessels under 20 meters (65.6 feet).

What is the visibility range? 2 nautical miles, which meets USCG requirements for sidelights on recreational boats under 12 meters (39.4 feet).

How tall is the light when open vs. closed? When closed, the light sits 2.15" above the deck. When open, it extends to 2.65" above the deck.

What is 316 stainless steel? 316 stainless steel is a marine-grade alloy with added molybdenum for superior corrosion resistance in saltwater environments. It's the same material used in high-quality marine hardware, cleats, and fittings.

How much power does this light draw? The LED design draws less current than incandescent navigation lights. You can run it all night without significant battery drain.

Do LED lights stay cool? Yes. Unlike incandescent bulbs, LEDs produce very little heat. The light stays cool to the touch during operation.

What is the optional waterproof cup for? The optional waterproof cup (3-1/4" deep, sold separately) installs below the light housing to catch any water that enters the cutout from waves or rain. It channels water away from the interior of your hull. Recommended for boats that take spray over the bow.

Can I install this myself? Yes. Cut a 3-1/2" hole with a hole saw, fasten with three #10 screws (not included), and wire to your 12V navigation circuit. You'll need at least 1.80" of clearance below deck (or 4.00" with the optional waterproof cup). Basic boat electrical skills required.
