1. Wrap a piece of string snugly around the piling’s full circumference

2. Measure the total length of the string in inches

3. Divide that number by π (3.1416) to calculate the diameter

4. Round up to the next half inch to choose your cap size

Example: A string around the piling measures 25 inches. 25 ÷ 3.1416 = 7.96, so you should choose an 8" piling cap (round 7.96 up to the next half-inch).
