DRS DimmerThis low voltage dimmer is unique in that it may be powered by either AC or DC. As such it may be utilized as either a DC dimmer, or AC dimmer on the output of a transformer which allows for multiple independently controlled circuits on a single transformer.
|
The most interesting use for this dimmer is that when utilized as a low voltage AC dimmer, by simply adding a DC source and relay to the dimmer installation you achieve automatic emergency lighting. The circuit runs normally on low voltage AC, upon power interruption the relay switches line power to DC thus effecting the emergency lighting scenario, then upon resumption of AC power the relay switches back to the transformer for continued lighting without fail.
The wiring diagram shown may be used to determine the correct wiring for any application. It is drawn showing the full utilization of the dimmer which will not apply of course if you are simply using it for AC or DC.
