Our Warranty Policy

Daniel R. Smith & Associates will repair or replace, at our option, any product that is defective for the life of that product. Should an exact replacement be unavailable, a product of similar quality and dimensions will be substituted. Certain exclusions apply.

In addition, any manufacturer's warranty will pass to the purchaser.

Exclusions:

1. All disposable, one-time use products including, but not limited to, fuses, bulbs, lamps and certain non-replaceable, disposable lighting fixtures.
2. All special order, non-stock, one-of-a-kind items.
3. Any product that has not been properly maintained.
4. Any product that has been user modified.
5. Any product that has exceeded the rated capacity specified on the fixture such as the use of a 20-watt bulb in a 10-watt rated fixture.
6. Any product that is used in an application for which it is not intended such as the use of an interior fixture in an exterior application.
7. Improperly installed products.
8. Freight costs and any labor costs associated with warranty items.
9. Unpaid for items such as, but not limited to, samples.

Daniel R. Smith & Associates, Inc. products are provided on an "as is" basis. Daniel R. Smith & Associates, Inc. assumes no responsibilities for the installation of any product or its proper use. Any problems reported to Daniel R. Smith & Associates, Inc. will be worked on a "best effort" basis. Daniel R. Smith & Associates, Inc. does not warrant that all reported problems will be resolved. Daniel R. Smith & Associates, Inc. makes no warranty, expressed or implied, with regard to the on-time delivery, installation or use of any product. All implied warranties, including the warranties of merchantability and fitness for a particular purpose are hereby excluded. In no event will Daniel R. Smith & Associates, Inc. be liable for any lost profits, lost savings, or other consequential, special, or indirect damages, even if Daniel R. Smith & Associates, Inc. has been advised of the possibility of such losses or damages. In any event, Daniel R. Smith & Associates, Inc. liability arising out of any kind of legal claim, whether in tort, contract, or otherwise, in connection with the purchase, installation or use of a product will not exceed the product's unit price paid by the initial purchaser. Purchaser deems acceptance of this warranty and exclusions by purchasing and accepting products from Daniel R. Smith & Associates, Inc.

Marine Lighting, LED, Underwater Lights, Dimmers, Switches, Bulbs, LED Navigation Light, Electronics, Electric, Waterproof, Vimar, LED Marine Lights Potential Radio Frequency Interference (RFI) and/or Electromagnetic Interference (EMI) may be encountered when using various electronic devices including, but not limited to, digital switching units (dimmers) and fluorescent ballasts. Careful consideration should be given when installing such devices in the proximity of or on the same electrical circuits as devices including, but not limited to, radio frequency receivers used for communication or navigation, digital engine controllers, etc.

Daniel R. Smith & Associates, Inc. assumes no liability with regard to any product exhibiting these characteristics or any corrective action required to eliminate any of the above mentioned characteristics. We recommend that any electrical or electronic product used on boats be installed and/or serviced by a qualified marine electrician familiar with marine power switching electrons following A.B.Y.C., U.L., and SAE standards and specifications.

Special Orders: We will gladly accommodate special orders for our customers. Special orders may require a 50% non-refundable deposit.

Return Policy

All returned goods must be accompanied by an RMA (Return Merchandise Authorization) number issued by our Sales Team.

The RMA number must be written on the outside of the return box in order to facilitate credit to your account.

Each return will be subject to a minimum 25% Restocking fee.

Account Terms:
Terms are available for business accounts upon credit approval. Please contact our Sales Team for a credit application.

Invoice Method:
Upon Shipping your order an invoice will be sent via United States Postal Service.

Paying your Bill:
When sending a check to pay a previous invoice, please include the invoice number on the check so that we may process the check as quickly as possible. There is a 1.5% monthly charge on overdue accounts.

Shipping: We presently ship via UPS and FedEx. If no preference is declared by a customer, we will ship UPS Ground. Other methods are available. Please contact our Sales Team for options.

Important Florida Sales Tax Information: All Florida customers are required to submit their Annual Resale Certificate (DR-13) issued by the State of Florida before their order is processed to be exempt from sales tax. Out-of-State customers who receive goods within State of Florida (i.e. showroom purchase or ship to Florida location) are also required to have a Florida DR-13 or sales tax will be charged.
